Payments on or after Termination

Upon termination of employment, an employer shall make termination payments to the terminated employee; these usually include outstanding wages, payments in lieu of notice (if applicable), annual leave pay, end-of-year payments, long service payments or severance payments (if applicable), and other payments under the employment contract.

Except for severance payments, all termination payments shall be made within seven days of the date of termination. For severance payments, an employer shall make payment within two months of the receipt of a notice from the employee claiming a severance payment.
